Batgirl stares down the barrel of his gun.
Batgirl: You can change. You can.
In Batgirl 36, Cass demonstrates one of my favourite aspects of her as a superhero. Yes, she kicks a lot of physical ass. But she also believes every, everyone, has the ability to redeem themselves. And if she’s in a position to help them do it, she will take it.
y’all should go check out Shobogan’s Cass spam. It’s fantastic.
Bruce narrates as Batgirl fights.
Bruce: Those people were scum. Cold-blooded kills. They’re fired at women and children, killing dozens. Batgirl knew this.
She also knew how I felt about it. How I wouldn’t have minded a little extra…zeal…on her part.
But…there wasn’t any. At her speed it must have been difficult, but she did just enough to take them out. No more.
She was…it wouldn’t have looked this way to anyone else, mind, you, but she was…
Gentle. Even with them.
Not only does Cass refuse to kill; she refuses to hurt people any more than necessary, no matter who they are.
Ooh, that’s a hard one. Cassandra’s run as Batgirl is probably my favourite, and there are so, so many moments I love in it.
I could pick one of the innumerable times in which she’s casually badass.
Or laughing and playing and learning with Spoiler.
Bonding with her new family.
Ignoring Batman and exceeding his expectations.
Struggling between who she was born to be and who she wants to be, and always winning.
An obvious answer would be Cass defeating Shiva, on her own terms.
The moment that first came to mind when you asked, though, was this one.
Please vote for Cassandra Cain today as the most kickass DC woman. As much as I love Wonder Woman, I’d rather show DC how much we miss Cass. Even though she hasn’t had an ongoing in years and her appearances have been few and far between, we haven’t forgotten her. So vote for Cass! It’s what Dick Grayson would do.
fuckyeahcassandracain loves her big brother tumblr, fyeahdickgrayson
A VOTE FOR CASS IS A VOTE FOR KICKING DC IN THE FACE.
tagging all her posts with “fuck you, dc”
Vote Cass! She’s one of us!
“Well… you’re both wrong. Everyone experiences tragedy. Tim, Bruce… you and me. It’s not about the city. It’s about how you choose to see the world. Everything else is just an excuse.

Dustin Nguyen’s art gives me visual orgasms. Vote Cass Cain.

It’s the final match of the tournament. We started with 32 women and are now down to two. There are no losers in this tournament; all these women are kick ass. But only one can be “The Most Kick Ass DC Woman” for 2011.
In one corner Cassandra Cain and in the other Wonder Woman. Both brave, true, fearless and kick ass. But who is the most kick ass? You decide!
Below are the match-ups that brought each character to this day.
Polls are open until 9pm EST tonight. One vote per person please.
The case for Cassandra Cain is here.
The case for Wonder Woman is here.
All right guys. I’m not gonna be here much today to remind you, so I’ll get as much spamming in this afternoon when I’m back as I can. But GO VOTE FOR CASS
I love Wonder Woman. She is powerful, an icon, seriously one of my favorite DC characters. But this year, we’re hoping to send some kind of message to DC, or at least try. I’m as cynical as the rest of you, but I do know industry people read DCWKA, so that’s reason enough for me. Cass has been criminally neglected over the years, and JUST as she was starting to show up again, DC pulls this reboot bullshit. YES she’s supposed to show up sometime in the New DC, but as a side character. We want Cass to win to show that not only is Cass popular enough for her own book, but we’re pissed that she’s been shoved to the side, again. ENOUGH with retconning the disabled. ENOUGH with getting rid of people of color to make room for white dudes who have had the spot light long enough. Cass is not only a member of two marginalized groups, but she’s a fucking great, kick ass character. We can’t afford to lose her.
VOTE CASSANDRA CAIN.
